So for some people, it’s a very big issue as to how their earnings through AdSense will increase.

And it is a major concern for bloggers because, at the end of the day, every blogger does it to earn money online through their blogs and websites.

Also, if Adsense is the only source for monetization of your blog, then it is a huge problem for you.

So through this article, you will learn about 10 tips to increase your AdSense earnings.

DISCLAIMER:

Through these tips, no one, not even me, can guarantee that you will see any instant boost in your CPC RPM or your earnings, as it can take multiple days, weeks, or even months. But if you follow these tips, you will see that your earnings in Adsense will gradually increase over time.

So let’s start with my 10 best tips to increase your Adsense earnings step-by-step.

Best Tips to Increase Adsense Revenue

Limit the number of ads:

Suppose in one of your blog posts you are showing 7 to 8 ads and in another blog post you are showing only 2 to 3 ads, then in the second blog post in which you have 2 to 3 ads, you will get a higher CPC and RPM as compared to the first one.

It is so because, in that second blog post, you are showing very few ads and providing very little space for Adsense to display your ads.

So Adsense will have limited opportunity, and it will show only those ads on which advertisers are bidding more. Hence, your RPM and CPC will increase.

Providing more space for ads gives Adsense an opportunity to show any type of ad, whether it has a low CPC or a high CPC. And it is noticed that when Adsense gets more ad space, they put up more low-cost ads on the website.

So it is advised that you should put up only 2 to 3 ads in a blog post.

Using Different Ad Formats and Units

As I explained before, you have to limit the number of ads on a page, and similarly, you have to keep on experimenting with the different types and sizes of ads on your website and its pages.

Suppose you are showing 3 to 4 ads on a page, then you have to use 3 to 4 different formats of ads.

Adsense provides us with different types of ad formats and a huge variety of ad sizes. You can use them.

Some of these that you can use are:

  1. In-article ads
  2. Display Ads
  3. In-feed Ads
  4. Multiplex Ads

So if you have 3 ads on a page, then you can show these 3 different types of ads.

An important point to note is that if you use one ad format multiple times, then don’t use the same ad unit code again.

For example, if you use two display ads on one page, then use different ad units for both ads. Because you are showing the same ad multiple times, your RPM will decrease gradually.

Place ads where users are more engaged.

Simply place the ads where the visitors are engaging more than usual.

For where they are stopping on the website for a longer time, where they are clicking based on their interest, so placing your ads at those points will increase the chances of clicks on the ads, or at least you will get more unique impressions.

And If you don’t know, let me tell you that ads in Adsense get refreshed every 30 seconds.

So if you place the ads in a place where users are engaging more, then the ads will be refreshed multiple times and you will earn a chance for an ad to be clicked, or your impressions will definitely increase.

How do I know the most engaging part of the website?

You can use heatmaps on your pages to figure out the most engaging part of your website.

To use the heatmaps, you just need to add their code in the header or any other part of your website, and they will track your user engagement and give you a heatmap showing where users are engaging more, staying longer than usual, and clicking more.

Best places to place ads

Here are some places where you should definitely put your ad codes for more impressions and clicks, and ultimately for more earnings.

  1. Below Header: Here you can use large responsive display ads. If you’re not able to add the ad code below the header, then you can add it at the beginning of the article.
  2. Sidebar: Here you get a comparatively larger area, so you can use multiplex ads.
  3. In between the article: Here you can use display ads or multiplex ads after every 1 or 2 headings or after 200 to 300 words.
  4. Before Footer: At the beginning of the footer or at the end of the article, you can place a display ad or a multiplex ad.

It is recommended that you put ads on the lower part of the website because when the user visits a page, ads might not be loaded at the upper portion of the website at that moment, and you will not get any impression, so you won’t be able to earn anything.

But when the website is fully loaded and ads are showing up at that moment, the user is either in the middle portion or lower portion of the page, not in the upper portion.

So it will increase the chances of seeing those ads by users.

Your Niche and Keyword Trends

So you know that if your website is targeting low CPC or RPM niches, then your earnings will never increase. Because, in that niche, advertisers are not paying for running ads.

Similarly, if you are working with trending keywords, like for any festival or popular event, then when the season for the event or festival comes, advertisers will bid for their ads and run their ads.

At that point in time, you will earn a lot of money, but when the season for the event or festival ends, advertisers will stop running ads, and your earnings will also decrease.

Hence it is recommended to work in HIGH CPC niches where the earning potential is maximum, and if you choose an evergreen high CPC niche, then it is the “cherry on the cake” as you will always earn a decent amount of money because in evergreen niches advertisers run ads for a longer period of time.

Bounce Rate

Bounce rate can also affect your Adsense earnings. Many times my subscribers and visitors tell me that they are working on high CPC niches and targeting high CPC keywords in their articles.

But still, they are not able to maximize their earnings because they are getting very low CPC. The reason for this may be the bounce rate of their website, let me tell you how it works.

If any user comes to your website, whether from social media or a search engine, they will see user-based ads for the first time.

This means that the user will only see ads related to what he has previously searched for in the browser. There is a high chance that you will get a low CPC and RPM.

For example, if a user was searching for earphones and then came to your website, which is not based on earphones, he would see ads related to earphones only, and you would get a low CPC and RPM. But then here is the twist:

If the user moves to another page of your website from the previous page, then your CPC will increase.

Here is how: Suppose from the previous page where the user was looking for headphones he moves to a page where you have written about insurance, then the cache of the page will be refreshed and the ads will be refreshed.

Now the new ads will be based on the keywords used on that page. There, you will get a high CPC because the CPC and RPM for insurance-related keywords are very high. From there, you will definitely earn the maximum amount.

For this, you have to decrease your bounce rate. To decrease your bounce rate, you can do internal linking between the articles.

Using Auto Ads

Auto ads also work very well in most places. Auto ads provide a very good RPM and CPC as compared to manual ads.

Because AdSense optimizes these ads on its own and tries to serve the best ads on the website,

In auto ads, too, you get a variety of ads. They are

  • Anchor Ads
  • Side rail ads
  • Vignette Ads

Vignette ads are full-page ads, and they provide a good CPC and RPM. Moreover, they have a high rate of conversion, which means there is a high chance that users will click on that ad.

Write high-quality, unique content.

So this is the most important point for maximizing your earnings. So everyone talks about this, and I am also telling.

Your content should be of high quality, and it should be unique too. But what is this quality?

What is high-quality content”?

Your content will become high-quality when the user who is reading it understands it very well and very easily. And you are successful in providing them with the value or solution that they were looking for.

Your content should not have any spelling or grammatical errors.

This will result in users engaging more with the content and staying for a longer period of time.

Block low-quality ads and non-related categories.

Adsense shows various category ads that are not particularly related to your niche.

You can block those categories of ads and allow only those categories that are related to your niche.

Showing ads related to your niche will increase your chances of increasing your earnings because users will find ads related to the keywords they are looking for.

User location and Traffic sources

Based on the location of the visitors, i.e., from where they are visiting the website, your RPM and CPC get affected too.

Based on the source of traffic, i.e., whether traffic is coming from social media, organic search, or by directly visiting the website, your RPM and CPC get affected.

In developed countries, you get a higher CPC and RPM as compared to developing countries. And this is the only reason why people and other bloggers say to target those high-tier developed countries.

But now you will say that targeting countries like the USA and UK will be highly competitive, and there is a high chance that you will not succeed in driving traffic.

Therefore, I have made a video on the list of high-tier countries other than the USA and UK that you can target. You should definitely check that out.

Conclusion

As a blogger, I understand the significance of using AdSense to generate revenue from my site.

However, I often have the problem of not making enough money from my advertisements.

That’s why I went in search of information and came up with ten ways to boost your AdSense income. Here is a summary of the 10 tips that were discussed in the article.

The first step is to reduce the saturation of advertising on each page. AdSense’s CPC and RPM may suffer if you display an excessive number of advertisements since fewer premium ads will be able to be shown.

As a result, it’s preferable to display no more than a few ads per page.

Next, try out a variety of ad sizes, placements, and units. You may learn which sizes and shapes are most effective for your website’s design and audience by experimenting with a variety of them.

AdSense comes in a number of different flavors, such as in-article ads, display ads, and multiplex ads.

To prevent a drop in RPM, it’s important to utilize unique ad codes wherever possible, even while displaying many advertisements of the same type.

One further piece of advice is to put advertisements in places where people spend more time. If you can get more people to see your advertising, you have a better chance of getting clicks.

Heatmaps are useful for monitoring user activity and identifying prime real estate for advertising. Hotjar, Microsoft Clarity, and Smartlook are just a few of the best heatmap tools available.

In addition, you may increase the number of views and clicks on your advertisements by strategically inserting them within your website.

Place them in the sidebar, between the articles, or at the bottom of the page before the footer.

However, to guarantee that your advertisements load completely and are visible to viewers, it is advised that you position them at the bottom of your page.

Another helpful piece of advice is to filter out low-paying advertising using AdSense’s Ad Review Center.

By excluding these advertisements, you can guarantee that only the highest-paying advertisements will be shown on your website.

High-paying keywords and particular countries with high CPC should also be prioritized. Doing so may greatly boost your financial rewards.

Last but not least, it is suggested that you work on improving your website’s loading speed, since this may boost user engagement and, in turn, your ad income.

In conclusion, your AdSense profits may be improved by following these guidelines. It may take a few days, weeks, or even months to see noticeable benefits, so keep that in mind.

Nonetheless, you may raise your website’s ad income and enhance monetization overall by adopting these practices.
